'Furnes attaqué par le Roy le [6] Juillet 1744 et pris par Capitulation le 10 suivant apr s 4 jours de Tranchée overte': map showing the town under siege. Reference table to French military units. Rectangular cartouches containing the title, scale bar and reference table. Scale: 1 inch to about 305 toises [1 inch to about 600 yards]. Inscribed: 'Planche Cinquiesme'. In spite of the date given in the title, this map seems to show the same assault as WO 78/1006/12, which apparently occurred during the War of the Spanish Succession, (1701-1714).
