Manuscript prize appeal No 77, from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Jamaica, filed in 1800.
Captured ship: Adventure (master Joseph Purcell).
Nationality: American.
History: bound from Havana to London or Liverpool, laden with logwood and hides; (hired to continue the voyage begun by the slave ship Juno, which was taken in 1798 by the British but then cast away) taken [in 1798] by HMS Solebay (Stephen Poyntz commanding), HMS Greyhound (Temple Hardy commanding), and HMS Echo (Allen commanding), and brought into Jamaica.
