This series contains records of the clerk of the crown for the County Palatine of Durham comprising entry books of orders in the Court of General Gaol Delivery for the Durham Assizes. They give, for each session, the names of the accused, together with the subject of each indictment, and a note of the plea, verdict and sentence. The names of jurors are also given, and often a calendar of prisoners, tried at each session, is entered.
