Description

This series contains the working minute books of the clerk of the crown for the Durham Assizes. At each session, the names of jurors and those accused of criminal offences, with the subject of the indictments, were recorded, with annotations of the plea, verdict and sentence in most cases. There is a gap in the series between August 1784 and August 1810.
