- 1761 June to 1762 Feb: 84th Regiment of Foot; colonel: Sir Eyre Coote; includes monthly returns from India.
- 1776 May: His Majesty's Regiment of Royal Highland Emigrants; colonel: Sir Henry Clinton; Allan Maclean commanding 1st Bn; contains monthly return from Quebec, Canada.
- 1778 Jan: Young Royal Highlanders; contains one field return.
- 1780 June: 84th Regiment of Highlanders; colonel: Sir Henry Clinton; John Small commanding 2nd Bn; contains one monthly return from New York, America.
- 1794 Mar to 1795 Sept: 84th Regiment of Foot; colonel: George Bernard; Major R C Ferguson commanding 2nd Bn.
