Description

Counties: Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, Warwickshire. Justices, Gaols, Nature: Wiliam Thirnyng; Leicester; Lincoln castle and city; Northampton castle and town; Nottingham (Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire prisoners); Oakham castle; Coventry town, Warwick; Roll.

mm or rots: 106 In roll 177 at ms. 10, 10d are deliveries of Northampton castle gaol on 20 July 1397 and 19 February 1398 by Thirnyng and his fellow justices of the peace for Northamptonshire. Files survive for only a minority of the deliveries in this roll:- Leicester, Just. Itin. 3/31/4 and 5; Lincoln castle, Just. Itin. 3/33/5 to 7; Northampton castle, Just. Itin. 3/52/11 to 13; Nottingham, Just. tin. 3/56/7.
