Chirograph indented made between Ralph of Egerton and Thomas of Dutton of Dutton witnessing that, whereas Hugh son and heir apparent of the said Ralph has married Margaret, daughter of John of Dutton father of Thomas, Ralph grants to Hugh and Margaret and the heirs male of the body of Hugh land worth 20 marks yearly and the reversion after Ralph's death of land worth 180 marks to Hugh and the heirs male of his body, but subject to the claim of dower of Elizabeth, Ralph's wife, and subject to the right of Ralph to make certain leases to last beyond his life; Thomas to confirm the undertaking of John his father, deceased, to pay 290 marks to Ralph and 20 marks to Elizabeth, within four years of this indenture; half the amount to be repaid if Margaret die without male issue within six weeks of the date of this indenture. 12 June, 24 Henry VI.
