Description

This series contains extra and intra departmental in-letter books. Includes entry books of Treasury orders, warrants etc. to Board of Customs, 1707 to 1813; registers of cases referred to the board, 1811 to 1882, with a note of the board and treasury determination; registers of papers received by the board relating to Irish affairs, 1823 to 1830, Scottish affairs, 1823 to 1849, Northern ports, 1833 to 1849 and confidential business, 1845 to 1882; papers relating to Dublin docks, 1823 to 1839, many concerning the fire there in 1833; inspection reports, Irish, Northern Scottish and Western ports, 1828 to 1875; register of papers received by the board concerning building works etc. at Irish ports, 1844 to 1850; and papers of Hon S Spring Rice, commissioner of customs, 1851 to 1861.
