Description

Commission concerning arrears of payments due to the king for licences to eat flesh during Lent and at other times prohibited by the statute of 25 Henry VIII, c. 21, uncollected by the Office of Faculties since November 1614 due to the negligence of William Hill and Bartholomew Baldwyn, former deputies of Thomas Marberry, deceased and now clerks of that office. A book produced in response to the commission, containing details of these arrears from across the country, is attached.
