Two letters from a Thomas Willson stating his claim to compensation from the Treasury, under the terms of the 1819 State Proclamation, offering land and property to those conducting one hundred able bodied men with their families to colonise the Cape of Good Hope.
Imprisoned and unable to provide for his own family, Willson asks that his deposit be returned to meet the financial pressures.
