Letter of attorney by Matthew Harbert of Colbrocke, esquire, receiver and chancellor of the manors or lordships of Monmouth and Hadnocke, parcel of the duchy of Lancaster, authorising William Fortune, gentleman, to receive into the queen's hands at the gate of Monomouth castle, from Charles Harbert, of Bailiput in theparish of Monmouth, gentleman, a surrender of messuages, gardens etc in Skenfreth within the said manors or lordships, to the use of James Smythe, of London, gentleman, and afterwards to deliver the said premises to the said James: Monm. 26 Jan, 40 Elizabeth I
