Obligation by John, the abbot, and the convent of Ramsey, to Roger de Norton- in consideration of a messuage in 188 acres of land he has granted them in Houghton and Wytton by the King's licence and his own charter (see A. 1230 above) to provide a chaplain to celebrate divine service daily in St. Benedict's, Ramsey, for the souls of Roger and his ancestors at the altar of St. Nicholas; paying, such chaplain 70s. a year.
