The majority of telegrams relate to the initial deployment of the British force in Sudan, in particular to rations, stores and equipment. The deaths of Sergeant Albert Newton Mumby and Private Walter Bailey (1st Lincolnshire Regiment), and Private Henry Burrows (1st Royal Warwickshire Regiment) were reported.
