Lancashire. 'A Map of the Environs of Liverpool. Drawn from an Actual Survey Taken in the Year 1768. By Wm. Yates & George Perry'. Shows roads (named), milestones, villages, mills, churches etc north of the River Mersey within a five-mile radius of the centre of Liverpool (radii of one mile shown); less detailed depiction of the north Cheshire shore. Reference table to conventional signs. Scale: 3 inches to 1.5 miles. Compass star. Cartouche embellished with nautical symbols. Drawn by William Yates and George Perry. Engraved by Thomas Kitchin, 1769. Published 29 August 1769. 'New Ferry' indicated in red ink.
