Suffolk: Aldeburgh. Twelve sheets of plans and sections of a tower for four heavy guns, built 1808-1810: (1, 9) Two copies of a section on the line A-B; item (1) lacks part of the right-hand side relative to item (9). (2, 10) Two copies of a plan of the lower floor. (3, 8) Two copies of a plan of the barrack floor. (4, 7) Two copies of a plan of the platform. (5, 11) Overlays, apparently relating to items (6) and (12) respectively. (6, 12) Two copies of a sheet bearing a general plan and section; item (6) lacks part of the left-hand side of item (12). Reference tables to items (1, 3-4, 7-9, 12). Scale: (1-4, 7-10) 1 inch to 4 feet [1:48]; (5-6, 11-12) 1 inch to 8 feet [1:96]. Items (3-4) and (9-12) are the original drawings, (3-4, 9-10) dated 1809 and (11-12) dated 1810; items (1-2) and (5-8) are copies made at the Office of the Commander of the Royal Engineers, Harwich, October 1823. MS additions, in red ink and pencil to item (4), show alterations authorized by the Admiralty; reference note; signed: 'J. S. R. 1902'. The additional reference note refers the reader to 'Colchester 8/763'; this plan has not been identified among holdings of The National Archives.
