'A Rough Outline of the Forts & Batteries Defending the Bay and Town of Funchal in the Island of Madeira surrendered by Capitulation on the 24 Decr 1807': map. Scale: 1 inch to 286 feet. Compass indicator. A note states: 'the whole Bay and Town of Funchal is surrounded by an immense amphi-theatre of bold and mountainous hills many hundred feet above the level of the sea'. This map was sent to the War Office by Captain A Morshead.
