Both items to scale: 3 inches to 400 feet. Compass indicator to item (2). (1) Copied from a plan sent by Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Bryce to Mr Crew, 24 December 1813; this copy by T Beer and J Nightingale, respectively Second and Third Class Royal Military Surveyors and Draughtsmen, May 1815. (2) Signed: Lieutenant H O Crawley, Royal Engineers, 8 May 1829; and Lieutenant Colonel [E] Fanshawe, Royal Engineers, 9 May 1829. Dimensions: (1) 61 cm x 96.5 cm; (2) 76.5 cm x 127.5 cm.
