Western Europe: GAF report Allied reinforcements moving up to Venlo-Roermond area, attack expected Huertgen area Feb 5; Hitler's orders for strict adherence to terms of Geneva Agreement relating to sick and wounded in the field, Red Cross vehicles not tobe used to carry weapons, ammunition or fuel, Feb 1; no German Naval personnel to be sent back from Norway to Germany for training other than on U-boat courses, Feb 5.
HQs of German Armed Forces instructed to help with transport of refugees from East, vehicles and food to be supplied, Feb 5.
Naval Headlines: deployment of U-boats to intercept Allied convoy JW 64; German Naval Special Operations Units Training Division to release unsuitable personnel to form Naval Infantry Division; Naval Chief Command West desirability for evacuation of seriously wounded from La Rochelle and Gironde, St Nazaire, Lorient, Channel Islands and Dunkirk; Japanese destroyers en route to evacuate personnel from Luzon turned back following Allied air attack, Japanese submarines given task of evacuating aircrews from Luzon.
