Description

North Africa: flying-in of as many aircraft and personnel as possible, Nov 4; Allied air raids on Benghazi, destroyer set on fire, five extra aircraft retained for defence; Allied penetrations in areas of Trento Division and 15th Panzer Division, south of Sidi Rahman, Panzer Army withdrawing to Fuka.

North Africa: heavy German and Italian casualties, Africa Corps reduced to 32 serviceable tanks, action restricted to area east of Mersa Matruh, Italian divisions withdrawing westwards.

Naval Headlines: Prinz Eugen carrying out trials in Danzig area; location of British wireless telegraphy station on Spitzbergen given to U-boat servicing German metrological. party, comment by ISL; Italian Mediterranean convoy details, fuel-oil situation in Crete critical.
