North Africa: GAF situation less tense because of supplies of fuel and ammunition; anti-tank GAF unit to deploy from Poland to North Africa, Oct 30.

Japanese minister, Madrid: Soviets to launch offensive, if it fails before Allies open a second front, Soviets will seek peace; rumours of developing Anglo-US offensive in Africa, Oct 26.

Portuguese minister, Angora: Turkey convinced that Germany will lose war through exhaustion as in 1918, Oct 26/27.
