U-boat activities North Atlantic and west of Ireland, U-boats southeast of Cape Farewell reminded of regulations regarding US ships, three U-boats presumed lost following attack on convoy SC42, Tirpitz to exercise with cruiser Koeln and to carry out torpedo firing trials Oct 6 and 7, destroyer Pessagno arrived Tripoli with 2000 survivors from Oceania, Gioberti picked up 600 from Neptuna, destroyer Perseo detailed to escort Sabbia due to be towed from Tripoli to Palermo, ss Ascianghi which sailed with Pietrino convoy arrived Tripoli, Sept 18, tanker Tinos left Benghazi, Sept 18, probably for Brindisi.
