Description

German 11th Army progress reports, Sept 11.

6th Army making progress north of Kiev, Sept 10 in face of Soviet resistance.

2nd Air Corps instructions to attack withdrawals to east and southeast.

24th Panzer Corps advancing south of Konotop.

1st Panzer Group attacking from Kremenchug bridgehead made progress to north, 11th Army met strong Soviet resistance near Perekop.

German Army groups engaged in wide pincer movement towards each other east of Kiev supported by air.

Drive northwards from Kremenchug supported by 4th and 5th Air Corps.

Port Sudan considered for inclusion in war zone.

Naval Headlines: Sept 9 U-boats attack convoy SC42 - ordered to remain in contact despite lack of torpedoes - Denmark Strait, Tirpitz expected to carry out sea refuelling exercise in Baltic, Admiral Scheer to carry out night firing practice, Sept 17, confirmation of sinkings of Italian ships Costanza, Gloria Stella and Sirena, movements of ships ss Liv escorted by destroyer Dezza expected to sail from Tripoli Sept 10, ss TINOS German tanker to sail Sept 12 from Patras to Benghazi, Italians aware of sailing of Force H from Gibraltar but do not know direction.
