H. Stokes [Stowkes] requires the [unnamed] addressee to pay his tenths (due next Christmas) at Northampton on Tuesday 15 January next. Dated 12 October 1565. [Dorse:] Receipt dated 12 October 1565, by Henry Stowkes, for 23s. 5d. from the parson of Brockhall [Northamptonshire], for the third payment of his subsidy due to the Queen 30 September last [1565]. Receipt by John Mottershed for 15s. 7¼d. from the rector of Brockhall [Northamptonshire], for the first part of the subsidy due to the Queen on 24 May last [1567]. Dated 31 May 1567. Receipt by John Mottershed for 7s. 8d. from the rector of Brockhall [Northamptonshire], for the second part of the subsidy due to the Queen on 24 May last [?1568]. Dated 10 July?1568. Receipt by Brian Penny for 23s. 5d. from the parson of Brockhall [Northamptonshire], for the first payment of the subsidy due to the Queen 1 October last [1571]. Dated 1 March 1572. Receipt by Richard Warme for 23s. 5d. from the parson of Brockhall [Northamptonshire], for the first payment of the subsidy, due to the Queen on 2 October last [1576]. Dated 19 October 1576.
