Westminster. Plan and elevation of the facade of a proposed design for a new Exchequer on the site east of the Sessions House. Scale: 1 inch to 17 feet. A note states: 'The style of Gothic here proposed is neither of the Castle nor Abbey, but such as was used in Palaces, Colleges and large Houses from the time of Henry VII and VIII to the beginning of Queen Elizabeth's reign. Authority for every part will be found in the fragments of this date at Hampton Court; Buckhurst, Sussex; Barsham Manor House, Norfolk; Winchester and various other houses of the nobility of the 16th century'.
