CRIMINAL: Thomas Richard Smith (convicted for ill-treating his child) sentenced to 3 months imprisonment: petition for reduction of sentence on grounds that appeal was dismissed because notice was served in error on police instead of prosecutor (NSPCC).Decision to release from prison forthwith.
