Medical and surgical journal of HM cholera hospital ship Tremendous for 4 to 21 August 1832 by D Wright, surgeon, during which time the said ship was employed at Sheerness.
Folio 1: Copy of the daily sick book for HM ship Tremendous for 4 to 21 August 1832 James Smith, aged 45, seaman; put on sick list, 4 August 1832; disease, cholera; died 4 August 1832. Thomas Webber, aged 39, seaman; put on sick list, 6 August 1832; disease, cholera; remained on board transport, 4 August 1832. John Brown, aged 58, cook; put on sick list, 13 August 1832; disease, cholera; died 15 August 1832. Mary Seal, aged 41, cook; put on sick list, 20 August 1832; disease, cholera; died 21 August 1832.
Folios 2-3: James Smith, aged 45, seaman received on board from the Silvia transport, lying at the Little Nore in the collapsed state of cholera and evidently near dissolution. It appeared from the statement of Mr Jewell, the assistant surgeon, and whose report of the case I enclosed to Sir William Burnett on the 5th August, that this man was entered on board the Silvia at Deptford about a week previous to his illness; case number 1; disease or hurt, cholera. Put on sick list, 4 August 1832 at the Little Nore, Sheerness. Died 4 August 1832.
Folio 3: Thomas Webber, aged 39, stone mason on board the Silvia transport; case number 2; disease or hurt, cholera. Put on sick list, 6 August 1832 at the Little Nore, Sheerness. Remained on board the transport.
Folio 4: John Brown, aged 58, cook received from HMS Temeraire; case number 3; disease or hurt, cholera. Put on sick list, 13 August 1832 at Sheerness. Died 15 August 1832.
Folio 4: Mary Seal, aged 41, wife of a seamn of HMS Seringapatam; case number 4; disease or hurt, cholera. Put on sick list, 20 August 1832 at Sheerness. Died 21 August 1832.
Folio 5: Blank.
Folio 6: a numerical abstract of the medical cases mentioned in the journal.
Folio 7: Surgeon's general remarks.
