Medical journal of the Mangles convict ship from 27 May to 1 November 1824 by John Crocket, surgeon and superintendent, on her passage to New South Wales.

Folio 1: George Burcher, aged 21, convict, taken ill at Portsmouth; sick or hurt, psora, hands and arms covered with small itching pustules; put on sick list, 30 June 1806, discharged 5 July 1824 cured.

Folios 2-3: Richard Smith, aged 22, convict, taken ill at Portsmouth; sick or hurt, enteritis, pain in the abdomen particularly about umbilicus inclination to vomit; put on sick list, 11 July 1824, discharged 10 August 1824 cured.

Folios 3-4: James Wallis, aged 18, soldier, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, febris semplex, occasional griping pain in his bowels with inclination to vomit and pain in his left side; put on sick list, 17 July 1824, discharged 5 August 1824 to duty.

Folios 4-5: John Jeffkins, aged 21, convict, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, pneumonia, violent pain in the chest with impeding respiration; put on sick list, 20 July 1824, discharged 15 August 1824 cured.

Folio 6: Thomas Dobyns, aged 25, soldier, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, febris semplex, headach, lassitude and anorexia; put on sick list, 20 July 1824, discharged 30 July 1824 to duty.

Folios 6-7: James Anderson, aged 18, soldier, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, febris, headach, chills and occasional griping with face flushed; put on sick list, 25 July 1824, discharged 17 August 1824 to duty.

Folio 7: James Boon, aged 20, convict, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, gleet, discharge from the urethra of some months duration accompanied with slight scalding in making urine; put on sick list, 2 August 1824, discharged 30 August 1824 cured.

Folio 8: James Baker, aged 23, convict, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, chronic ophthalmia; put on sick list, 11 August 1824, date of discharge unknown.

Folios 9-10: John Greenfield, aged 28, soldier, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, pneumonia, with occasions pain under the sternum; put on sick list, 23 August 1824, discharged 16 September 1824 to duty.

Folio 10: John Toms, aged 26, convict, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, when jumping on the hen coop fell down the forehatchway and received a fracture of the femur; put on sick list, 6 October 1824, sent 8 October 1824 to hospital at Sidney.
