Medical and surgical journal of the Harmony convict ship for 16 April to 13 October 1827 by William [McDonald?/McDowell?], Surgeon and Superintendent, during which time the said ship was employed in conveying convicts from England to New South Wales.

Folios 1-2: Martha Hubbert, aged 39, convict; disease or hurt, pain and uneasiness in her external organs of generation, venereal symptoms. Put on sick list, 1 May 1827 at Woolwich. Discharged 1 July 1827.

Folios 2-3: Charlotte Dawson, aged 24, convict; disease or hurt, venereal symptoms. She came from the same prison as Martha Hubbert. Put on sick list, 10 June 1827 at sea. Discharged 20 July 1827.

Folios 3-4: Mary Hindle, aged 32, convict; disease or hurt, complains of pain in her breast attended with difficulty of breathing. Put on sick list, 19 June 1827. Discharged 30 June 1827.

Folios 4-5: Ellen Pollard, aged 29, convict; disease or hurt, complains headache and general debility. Put on sick list, 30 June 1827 off the Cape De Verdes. Discharged 6 July 1827.

Folios 5-6: Margaret Cain, aged 20, convict; disease or hurt, complains of pain in left breast greatly increased on drawing a full inspiration attended with fever and thirst. Put on sick list, 3 July 1827. Discharged 16 July 1827.

Folios 6-8: Esther McDonald, aged 27, convict; disease or hurt, complains of severe pain in left breast greatly increased on drawing a full inspiration. Put on sick list, 11 July 1827 at sea. Discharged 22 July 1827.

Folios 8-9: Mary Ann Knott, aged 25, convict; disease or hurt, complains of pain and uneasiness in left breast increased on drawing a full inspiration attended with fever and considerable thirst. Put on sick list, 11 August 1827 at sea. Discharged 20 August 1827.

Folio 10: Margaret Cain, aged 20, convict; disease or hurt, complains of headache, nausea and general debility. Put on sick list, 16 September 1827 at sea. Discharged 24 September 1827.

Folio 11: Elizabeth Addison, aged 22, convict; disease or hurt, received a very severe contusion of the right patella when in the act of getting into her berth occasioned by the heavy rolling of the ship. Put on sick list, 12 September 1827 at sea. Discharged 29 September 1827 sent to the hospital previous to all the prisoners being disembarked.
