Medical and surgical journal of His Majesty's Grenada, convict ship for 15 March to 10 November 1819 by E Lazzaretto MD, superintendent and surgeon, during which time the said ship was been employed in taking convicts to New South Wales. Sea victualling between 22 April and 30 October 1819. (Described at item level).
The journal is in the form of a diary, recording daily routine of cleaning and ventilating the prison, number of convicts allowed on deck and weather etc; with entries for individual cases describing symptoms and treatment. There is a separate section between folios 35 and 38 recording treatment of guards and their wives.
