1 item (originally enclosed in despatch number 14 from Consul Thomas, Nagasaki, to the British Ambassador, Tokyo) extracted from FO 262/1953. Japan Honshu: Yamaguchi prefecture; Kyushu: Fukuoka prefecture. 'Sketch map of Shimonoseki - Moji - Dokai Bay district': showing national highways (in red) and railways, with named stations. Produced in relation to a proposal (not shown) to link the existing railway lines through a tunnel under Shimonoseki strait, via Hikoshima island.
