1 item (enclosure to the letter of the Commissaries of 20/31 August 1752, to the Earl of Holderness) extracted from SP 78/239 (folio 101). Quebec. Map of 'Partie Orientale de la Nouvelle France ou du Canada Par Mr. Bellin Ingenieur du Roy et de la Marine 1745. A Paris chez R. J. Julien a l'Hotel de Soubise. A Nuremberg chez les Heritiers d'Homann Géographes de S.M.I. A Londres chez J. Rocque, Geodesiste.' Title and scale bar in rococo cartouche. Scale: about 1 inch to 50 miles. MS additions show the limits of Nova Scotia claimed by the British, and other areas granted, claimed or ceded between 1621 and 1751. Dorse bears a key headed 'Carte d' une Partie de l'Amerique Septentrionale pour servir à l'Intelligence du Memoire sur les Prétensions des Anglois au sujet des Limites à regler avec la France dans cette partie du Monde'. From the Commissaries' letter, it appears that the key on the back is similar to one on a specially printed French map. This copy lacks the publisher's imprint on the lower margin.
