Description

2 items (enclosure B to Sir R Moor's despatch of 27 May 1899) extracted from CO 444/1. Nigeria: Benin. Two maps entitled 'Map of the Country in which the Benin Expedition - April and May 1899 - operated, during the subjugation of Ologbo Sheri'. The maps show roads, friendly villages, and hostile villages destroyed. Each with reference table. Each with compass indicator. Both signed by N E Heneker, Capt Connaught Rangers, Benin City, 17 May 1899. (1) is rather more neatly drawn and lettered than (2).
