1 item (enclosure to Governor Chester's despatch of 7 June 1774) extracted from CO 5/591 (folio 255). Louisiana. 'A Plan of the Mouths of the Mississippi By George Gauld M.A. For the Right Honourable the Earl of Dartmouth.' The map shows place names and soundings. Scale: 1 inch to 2 miles. Compass indicator. The map has a paragraph of remarks on the mouths or 'passes' to the river, which includes a description of the Spanish fort established in 1766 on the New Balife, commanding the North East Pass.
