'A Plan of the Mouths of the Mississippi By George Gauld M.A. For the Right Honourable the Earl of Dartmouth.' The map shows place names and soundings. Scale: 1 inch to 2 miles. Compass indicator. The map has a paragraph of remarks on the mouths or 'passes' to the river, which includes a description of the Spanish fort established in 1766 on the New Balife, commanding the North East Pass.
