Description

Enclosure award and map of Warkworth (manor), Northumberland. Map covers the enclosed area only (217 acres) and shows the land after enclosure. Also shows drainage features, named river (with direction of flow, shoals and weir), fords, marsh or wetland, woods, damaged ground, list of pre-enclosure field acreage, named gates, named footpaths or bridleways, named roads, named railway (with level crossing), quarry, bumping stone, field boundary ownership, some named landowners, relief (shown by rock drawing and hill-shading). With border. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. Construction lines shown. By Thomas Bell and Sons, May 1851. Map certified for accuracy, 3 July 1856. Valuer: Thomas Bell, Newcastle upon Tyne, Land Surveyor
