Reference tables. Numerous insets. Table of contents. Each map 40 cm x 33 cm, bound in volume 25 cm x 40 cm. 33rd edition of Dr K von Spruner's Hand-Atlas, newly edited by Menke. Maps of Russia compiled by Professor J Caro. Maps variously drawn by F Hein, F Keinz, B Hassenstein, E Mayr, G Breithaupt, E Schäffer, O Koffmahn. Engraved by G Geissler, E Kühn, A Reichenbecher. Some maps of Germany revised by Dr Thomas Lindner. Printed by Engelhard-Reyher, Gotha. Published by Justus Perthes, Gotha, 1880. Some maps produced at various dates between 1871 and 1879. Preface by Menke, 27 April 1871, followed by 40 pages of descriptive notes. Maps illustrate history of Europe and the Middle East from 476 to 1866.
