Udgivet paa offentlig Bekostning 1888': (title on three sheets only). Inset extensions beyond areas shown on main map. Shows ecclesiastical districts. Ethnographical table on sheet 3; manuscript English translations. No scale shown. Four sheets, each 48 cm x 69 cm. (2) 'Russisk Lapland': map showing ethnic, linguistic and residential characteristics of the population; statistics; boundaries and frontiers; forests, roads, fisheries and summer encampments; churches and chapels, doctors' surgeries, schools, courts, post-offices, telephone and telegraph stations. Lapp-Norwegian glossary; manuscript English translations. Scale bars in Norse miles, geographical miles and kilometres. Two sheets, each 48 cm x 69 cm. [?Printed] at Norges geografiske Opmaaling. [?1888]. Enclosed, together with 'Notes on Finmarken by Professor J.A. Friis, Christiana', in Consul-General Michell's Political despatch number 20, November 1889 (see FO 73/533).
