Map of area now in Sudan and Ethiopia. 'Carte du Soudan annexe au rapport du Lt Cel [Lieutenant Colonel] D.H. Stewart; dressée par G.B. Messedaglia'. The map shows district boundaries, routes followed by caravans and by the post, torrents, rivers, and villages. Some tribal names indicated. Numbers indicate distribution of tribes according to Lieutenant Colonel Stewart's report. Reference table. 'Kartum 1883'. Enclosure 6 in Sir E Malet's despatch number 71 of 6 March 1883. A print of this despatch and of Lieutenant Colonel Stewart's report are in FO 407/27.
