'The West India Atlas ... illustrated with forty correct charts and maps taken from actual surveys, together with an historical account of the several countries and islands which compose that part of the world'. Introduction dealing with discovery, situation, produce, government, religion. Short title appears on a frontispiece showing bay with ships, sailors, small boats, natives, casks, palms, turtle, alligator and flamingoes. Background; a volcano above a cherub with trident and torch. Dedicated to Sir William Young, Baronet, late governor of Dominica, by Robert Sayer. Plate above dedication shows winged figure holding arrow beside coat of arms with motto 'Press Through'. Background: palms, sea and a ship. Foreground: palette, kegs, telescope, globe, music, protractor, dividers. By 'the late Thomas Jeffreys, Geographer to the King'. Printed for Robert Sayer and John Bennett, 1780. A later edition with sixty-one charts and maps.
