Description

South America. Lithographic copy of a manuscript map in the British Library, Thomas Kitchin's 'Map of the Dutch Colonies of Surinam and Barbutius and the French Colony of Cayenne between the Orinoko and Amazon Rivers in South America', drawn in 1760 for the London Magazine. Title in rococo cartouche. French and Dutch territories are lightly shaded. Scale: 1 inch to 100 miles. Compass indicator.
