Map of area now in Nigeria and Cameroon. 'Mündungsgebiet der Flüsse Aqua Jafe, Rio del Rey, Meta, Andonkat and Meme ... 1889-90'. German Admiralty chart of the river delta. Chart shows soundings. Compass rose. Drawn by A Wegner. Published by Dietrich Reimer for the German Admiralty. The initials of four people are written near the centre of the chart: 'P Le P T', 'D K', 'B S' and 'C M MacD'. One may be P H Le Poer Trench, secretary of the embassy at Berlin; another is Major C M MacDonald, Commissioner on the West Coast of Africa.
