Description

Short title: Ashurst v Stanley.

Plaintiff(s): Thomas Ashurst, Charles Davenport and his wife, Lady Elizabeth Stanley, widow and relict of Sir Edward Stanley, bart.

Defendant(s): Sir Thomas Stanley, Bart.

Subject of depositions: Manor or lordship of Biccursteth, and the capital, messuage, or manor house called "the Hall of Biccursteth" and the demesne lands and other lands thereunto belonging. Touching the marriage portion and jointure of said Lady Elizabeth on her marriage with the said Sir Edward Stanley (defendant's late father). Debts, of said Sir Edward Maintenance of defendant by plaintiffs since his father's death. Survey of said Sir Edward's estates. Customs of said manor.

County/place: Lancashire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1692.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 6 February 1693 at Cranswick.
