Description

Short title: Bateman v Tarne.

Plaintiff(s): Jane Bateman (an infant) under the age of twenty-one years, by William Knipe, her next friend and guardian.

Defendant(s): John Tarne.

Subject of depositions: Lands called Hutton Park (for which plaintiff pays a fee-farm rent of £8 to the Crown), the barony of Kendall. Touching right and title to closes of land (in defendant's possession) called "Old Haggs ", "Great Fields", "Bullockside" and "Woodhead Parocks." Whether such premises are parcel of the park or parcel of the barony of Kendal? By what tenure held? Metes and bounds. Alleged waste and spoil. Trespass on woods.

County/place: Westmorland.

Date of commission: 15 June 1687.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 8 September 1687 at Kendal.
