Description

Short title: Attorney General v Newton.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Robert Sawyer, kt (Attorney General), as well on his Majesties behalf as on the behalf of Francis Creswick, Stephen Chapman, Thomas Stubbs.

Defendant(s): Sir John Newton, baronet, Thomas Chester, William Player, John Meredith, Thomas Ballard, George Babor or Beaver, John Batt.

Subject of depositions: Chace called Kingswood Chace and the bounds therein called "the Inner Bounds." Whether they include Bromley Heath and Downing Green? Metes and bounds of "Inner Bounds." Whether the soil of the Inner Bounds was parcel of the ancient demesne of the Crown? Touching also the hundred of Barton Regis and the parishes of St Phillip and St Jacob, Mangotsfield, Stapleton, and Bitton. Metes and bounds. Encroachments. Survey.
