Description

Short title: Attorney General v Garwell.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Heneage Finch, kt (Attorney - General), by the relation of the mayor and burgesses, of the borough of Boston (Lincolnshire).

Defendant(s): Bartholomew Garwell and his wife Alice.

Subject of depositions: Port and borough of Boston, and the alleged "forestalling and intercepting" of vessels (by defendants) from coming to the port, and unlading, of goods, and taking toll, at their wharfs and staiths in Skirbeckquarter, to the injury of plaintiffs by defrauding them of their customs' dues.

County/place: Lincolnshire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1673.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 6 January 1674 at Boston.
