Description

Short title: Raleigh v Chamberlain.

Plaintiff(s): George Raleigh.

Defendant(s): Edmond Chamberlain.

Subject of depositions: Agreement made by plaintiff and defendant with the Commissioners and Governors for the management of His Majesty's receipt of excise of ale, beer, and other liquors, for a lease of all manner of excise of ale, beer, perry, syder, metheglin, and other native liquors exciseable within the cities of Bristol and Gloucester and Gloucester. Touching the nature of the lease made by Sir Denny Ashburnham, Sir George Benyon, Francis Finch, and Edward Wingate (late Commissioners of Excise) to defendant and John Raleigh, deceased. Omission of John to render an account to plaintiff.

Date of commission: 28 November 1668.
