Description

Short title: Williams v Herbert.

Plaintiff(s): John Williams, taylor.

Defendant(s): Anne Herbert, widow of William Herbert, constable of Cardiff Castle, Edward Want, Thomas Richards, Hugh Hawkins, Richard Watkins, Lewis Thomas, Phillip Dennis, William Wran, Adamel Hickman.

Subject of depositions: Manors of Cardiff and Littleabont, belonging to Philip Earl of Pembroke and Montgomery. Touching the seizure of plaintiff's goods in his house at Cardiff, and his mill, kiln, at Littleabont (Glamorgan) as "felons goods" forfeited to the Earl as lord of the manors.

County/place: Glamorgan.

Date of commission: 29 November 1647.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 25 January 1648 at Cardiff.
