Description

Short title: Bishop of Salisbury v Lord Arundel.

Plaintiff(s): John Bishop of Salisbury.

Defendant(s): Thomas Lord Arundel of Wardour, the Dean and Chapter of the Cathedral Church of Bristol, and Edward Fricker.

Subject of depositions: Parish and parish church of Tisbury (Wiltshire), parcel of the late abbey of Shafton (Shaftesbury) (Dorset). Whether within the diocese and ecclesiastical jurisdiction of Salisbury. Touching a yearly pension of 40s. said to be payable out of the benefice of Tisbury to the Bishop of Salisbury.

County/place: Wiltshire; Dorset.

Date of commission: 28 June 1626.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 21 August 1626 'in the close of the Cathedral Church of Salisbury'.
