Description

Short title: Lord Grey v Kinton.

Plaintiff(s): Rt Hon Henry Lord Grey, of Grooby.

Defendant(s): Jeffrey Kinton, of Newtown Lyndford.

Subject of depositions: Thomas Mouncke's lands in Holegate Ward, in the parish of Newtown, and the lands belonging to the late priory of Ulvescroft, in Holegate Ward and Anstie Town. Perambulations of Holegate Ward. Had the priory any manor within Anstie? Payment of 10ths and 15ths by the inhabitants of Anstie and Thurcaston. Right of common of the inhabitants of Newtown, Lyndford, Thurcaston, and Ansty. Was Holegate Ward sometime one of the walks of a keeper anciently belonging to Charnwood Forest?.

County/place: Leicestershire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1609.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 7 January 1610 at Brodgate.
