Description

Short title: Owen v Price.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Roger Owen, kt.

Defendant(s): Sir Richard Price, kt, and Thomas Purcell.

Subject of depositions: Manors of Arwystley and Keveiliog; are they lordships marchers; do they contain the parishes of Llanwonog, Treveglos, Penscrowed, Llandynam, Llanidloes, Llangiricke, Carno, Machynleth (and the whole hundred thereof), Llanbrynmayre, Penegoes, Darrowen, Llanworyn, and Kemes, parcel of the late dissolved monasteries of Strate Marcell and St John of Jerusalem, in England; touching custom of payment of a "myze" by tenants on decease of lords of such manors, and by tenants of the abbey lands of Strate Marcell, in the counties of Cardigan and Radnor. Alleged inclosure of commons by defendants. Customs of manors. Metes and bounds. Survey. Did Henry VIII (37 Henry VIII) grant manor of Talertheg, late of the abbey of Strate Mercell to Sir Arthur Darcy, and he to William Cowper, and he to Nicholas Purcell (defendant's grandfather), who left it to Richard Purcell, and he to defendant. Right of common of the manor in Arwystley and Keviliog. Is Talertheg a manor of itself. Metes and bounds. Survey.
